Underwriting
In accordance with the policy of Fairfax Public Access (FPA), underwriting support is a crucial part of our operations, helping to defray the costs of producing our program. Underwriters are acknowledged at the beginning and/or end of each episode, as per the FCC and Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) requirements.
The following are permissible in underwriting announcements:
- Name of underwriter
- Location/address/website of the underwriter's business
- A phone number to call for more information
- A brief, value-neutral description of a service or product line
- Slogans that identify, but do not promote, the underwriter, its service, or its product line
- Brand name or trade names
- Musical backing
As our sponsor, all funds raised will be directed and approved by FPA. A temporary restricted account will be established under the producer's name and the program title, and all underwriting donations will be used solely for the production of programming. FPA will provide a letter confirming the receipt of your donation and a copy of FPA's IRS letter for tax deduction purposes.
